In 1977 I Graduated from Auckland, and practised in Christchurch for two years before going overseas for a further three years to train and practise in England.
I came here for a short time to help when the local optometrist was tragically killed on the Parapara. My wife Raey and I fell in love with Wanganui and made it our home. I went into partnership with Michael Webber and then John and later Kerry joined us.
My wife and I have raised three children here. All have flown the nest; one daughter to America and one to Auckland as a Solicitor. My son now Captains long haul flights for Air New Zealand.
Giving back to our wider community is important to me and I have carried out charity optometry work in Fiji. I have gained a further qualification in diagnostic phamaceutical agents and am a regular conference attendee. I love new technology.
My wife and I try to walk regularly for fitness. I also play golf with enthusiasm and frustration, and ski. I love being outdoors but also enjoy a good book. My signature meal is chicken masala.
